They have heard of Keukenhof. They have booked a weekend in the Dutch countryside. But beyond that, the day is open.

You know that feeling when you are driving home and you pass a restaurant that looks exactly like the place you were looking for all day? That is the Bollenstreek for most visitors. The best spots were there all along. Nobody told them.

But imagine finding out afterwards that you also cycled straight past the most beautiful tulip fields of the season. That a boat trip was just around the corner. That there was an alpaca farm nearby that you never even knew existed.

That is exactly what LocalDutchWays is for. Everything you need to know about the region, in one place, before you arrive. Our routes include the hidden spots, the local events, and the seasonal highlights that most visitors only discover on their way home. And if your plans change, your route can too. Less time, different mood, a late start. There is always a route that fits.

Built by locals, for curious travellers

We are Jaap and Cynthia, a local family from the heart of the Dutch bulb region. After years of watching visitors rush past the best spots on their way to Keukenhof, we decided to do something about it.

LocalDutchWays is our way of sharing the Holland we grew up in: the flower fields, the hidden local cafes & restaurants, the farm experiences and the waterways that most visitors never find on their own.
